Climate

The climate of Cuba is sub-tropical with humidity varying between 75% and 95%. The average temperature in the summer is around 30°C in Havana and even higher in other areas of the island. In the winter, temperatures drop to an average of 18°C. However, temperatures as low as 7°C have been recorded.

The eastern region, known as Oriente, enjoys a more moderate climate. From May until November, there is a considerable increase in humidity and precipitation, but continuous rain is not characteristic for the island. The period June through October is considered hurricane season, which is accompanied by flooding.
